What to know before you tap to ride

Settlement date and child fare

  • Please note that Tap to Ride does not apply to child fares.

Important

Tap to Ride on the Kintetsu lines is limited to getting on and off within the service areas. (However, even when riding from an alternate station is accepted in a tap-to-ride section, the service may be unavailable on some routes.)
When you enter and exit the fare gate, be sure to tap your payment tool on it.

  • Once you enter, it is valid only for the day.
  • If the payment tool you used is not properly processed and your entry or exit is not recorded, you may be required to pay the fare for your traveled section in cash.
  • Tap to Ride cannot be used in conjunction with other tickets (e.g., commuter passes, multi-trip tickets).
  • The service cannot be used to adjust fares for additional travel on fare adjustment machines.
  • The service cannot be used for admission tickets.
  • If you have exited the fare gate and your entry and exit have been recorded, no refunds will be made by declaration.
  • You cannot use different payment tools to enter and exit even if the tools use the same card.
Example: You tap your card to enter and tap your smartphone to exit.
  • Payment tools cannot be used by anyone other than the card holder.
